HEAT STRESS ASSESSMENT
The UNI EN ISO 7243 standard illustrates that a control methodology is used to assess the heat stress to which a person is exposed, and to determine the presence or absence of risk conditions at the workplace. It applies to the assessment of heat-induced effects on a subject during a working day (up to 8 hours). It cannot be used in situations where heat exposure is short-lived.
The regulations assess the level of caloric stress present in occupational, internal and external, or other environments, to which adult workers may be exposed.
Here are the cases in which the application of UNI EN ISO 7243 is evaluated:
- Applies to the assessment of the effect of heat on a person during his exposure throughout the working day (up to 8 h).
- Not applicable for very short heat exposure.
- Applies to the assessment of indoor and outdoor occupational environments, as well as other types of environments, and to adult workers.
