The operating room is a hospital environment, considered high risk of biological contamination especially in the space surrounding the surgical field that exposes the patient to a high risk of infection. Therefore we must pay particular attention to ensure the safety of patients and operators. The classification of operating room departments as high risk of infection is so because in them there are a high incidence values of nosocomial infection. The surgical team is the main cause of organic contamination. Other secondary sources are equipment that can make these vectors of contaminating microorganisms. Other causes can be represented by the defective air from the ventilation and air conditioning system. Due to this problem, Commissioning Impianti srl has developed a significant experience in calibration of the ventilation system serving operating rooms in order to ensure proper protective constant airflow, controlled bactericidal charge with correct overpressure that protect all system from air inlet of the surrounding areas. Through proper Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of air distribution diffusers and calibration of the automatic air control system, VAV and CAV can ensure proper fluid dynamics of the entire operating environment as shown in the picture below.
